Hawthorn def Western Bulldogs by 51 points
Hawthorn took a very big step in qualifying for the this year's Grand Final with a 51-point demolition of the Western Bulldogs on Friday Night at the MCG.
It was the Lance Franklin show, as the power forward kicked eight goals to lead his side to victory.
Taking the lead early on during the match, the Hawks controlled proceedings from the opening quarter, and never looked like relinquishing their advantage on the scoreboard.
The Doggies struggled to kick goals, as the Hawthorn defence was too tall for their oppositon.
Brad Sewell gathered 31 possessions and Sam Mitchell 30. Michael Osborne booted four goals and Jarryd Roughead kicked three.
As for the visitors, Daniel Cross had 39 touches and Adam Cooney 26 including two goals. The only shinig light up front was Jason Akermanis, with three goals for the Westerners.
Collingwood def Adelaide by 31 points.
Collingwood has ended Adelaide's season with a 31-point victory at AAMI Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Having lost the previous week on the road to Fremantle, the Pies were not expected to knock off their much-fancied opponents, but started the more promising by kicking four goals in the first term.
But Adelaide came back in the second, booting seven goals to see the margin stretch out to four goals midway through the quarter. But two Dane Swan goals closed the gap to see the Magpies trail by 12 points at half-time.
In the third term, Collingwood managed to shut down Adelaide's forward line, whilst still kicking seven goals of their own to obtain a 20-point lead. This continued in the final quarter, where the Pies sealed the deal to see them through to the second week of the finals.
By game's end, Swan had 27 disposals and two goals, and Scott Pendlebury 24. Chris Dawes and John Anthony kicked three goals. But the real worry lies in Simon Prestigiacomo, who seemed to have injured his shoulder in a marking contest in the first quarter.
For the home side, Andrew McLeod amassed 23 touches and Michael Doughty 21. Scott Stephens was the main threat up forward, and his six goals kept his side in the game. Nathan Bassett retired at the end of the match.
Sydney def North Melbourne by 35 points.
In front of a disappointing crowd at ANZ Stadium, Sydney has defeated the Kangaroos by 35 points.
North started the more promising of the two sides, and had a three-goal lead at the end of the first quarter. But all that hard work ended when the Swans kicked eight goals in the third quarter.
Restricting the Kangas to only one goal in the last quarter, Sydney kept its Premiership hopes alive and walked away with victory.
Amon Buchanan collected 27 possessions and Jarrad McVeigh 25. Kieran Jack, Adam Goodes and Barry Hall all booted three goals each.
For the Roos, Brent Harvey gathered 20 touches and kicked two goals. Shannon Grant also kicked two goals in his last ever AFL match.
Geelong def St. Kilda by 58 points.
Geelong has annihilated St. Kilda by 58 points at the MCG to set up a Preliminary Final against either the Western Bulldogs or Sydney.
The Cats kicked away to a seven-goal lead at half-time, and never looked troubled since that point, flexing its dominant muscle as the match progresses.
It sometimes felt as if St. Kilda did not come to play as compared to last week, when they mauled Essendon by 108 points. The Saints now face Collingwood in next week's semi-final.
Gary Ablett has 35 possessions and Jimmy Bartel 34. Cameron Mooney and Brad Ottens both booted three goals for the victors.
For the Saints, Sam Fisher collected 31 touches and Lenny Hayes 30. Stephen Milne was his side's only multiple goalkicker with two goals.
