Shaw's drink-driving incident
August 4th 2008 01:15
Collingwood is set to have a press conference this afternoon at 2pm to discuss an incident that involved defender Heath Shaw over the weekend.
Shaw was allegedly involved in an accident earlier this morning, and when more investigation was done, it was found that the 22-year-old had a blood-alcohol reading three times over the limit.
The player is alleged to have ploughed into some parked cars in East Kew, accompanied by another Magpie.
Shaw could be facing a 14-month licence suspension for having a .144 reading.
Collingwood lost the TAC sponsorship, set to be worth over $800,000 a season, as players were being caught drink-driving and in dangerous road circumstances.
More to come at the press conference, when the air will be cleared.
