Round 22 Preview: Sydney vs Brisbane
August 29th 2008 10:11
Had Brisbane defeated Carlton last week, this match would have become a direct encounter as to who would play finals football, and who wouldn't.
Instead, the Lions were knocked off by a resurgent Blues outfit, and the finals race has been decided. In which order they will finish is still up for grabs.
Sydney were handed a footballing lesson last week against potential finals' opponents Collingwood. The Swans allowed the Magpies to kick eight goals in the first quarter, and never looked like closing the gap from that point on.
On the other hand, Brisbane allowed Carlton to kick six goals in the last term to snatch victory away from their grasp. Will they let this happen again this week.
This match could be the last time Jonathan Brown plays a match for the Lions, as he has not signed a contract to stay on at the club. Could he stay, or will he go?
Sydney has not lost to Brisbane since 2004, and at the SCG since 2001. Will they continue their dominance over the Lions?
