Round 21 Preview: Western Bulldogs vs Essendon
August 21st 2008 08:13
With nothing to play for other than pride, this match will mean more to the Doggies than the Bombers.
Having lost four of its last five games, the Westerners are bring written off before the Finals begin. Not only have they got something to prove to themselves, but also their fans.
Forward Jason Akermanis was accused by former Bulldog Luke Darcy of not towing the team line a few weeks ago, and was unable to avenge it last week, will he do so against the Dons?
Essendon is preparing itself for an assault in 2009, and wants to show the rest of the competition that they mean business. Captain Matthew Lloyd did not get the fairytale ending to his 250th match, but is hoping his 251st is even better.
Have the Doggies run out of legs? Or are they gearing themselves up for a show commencing in two weeks?
Could Essendon keep the Western Bulldogs' miserable run of the six weeks going?
