Round 21 Preview: Collingwood vs Sydney
August 22nd 2008 01:44
Sixth play seventh in this gripping contest right before the finals series.
These two teams could be potentially playing against one another in a fortnight, and so this game looms as a possible preview to the big one.
Rhyce Shaw returns for the Magpies from his club-imposed suspension, for his involvement in the Heath Shaw and Alan Didak drink-driving incident, and will be a welcome boost to his side. But they will miss Dale Thomas' run in the midfield and forward line.
Barry Hall will be a key figure for the Swans, as he has found some good form in his last two outings, kicking nine goals. He will need to fire again if the Swans are to take the four points home.
Hall was also suspended indefinitely for his alledged strike on Shane Wakelin earlier this year, and will want to prove a point against the Magpies.
Sydney have struggled against Collingwood in their last few encounters, and are on a mission to grab fourth spot on the ladder. Can they do it?
The Pies haven't sured up their spot in this year's finals' series, and defeating the Swans will surely see them through to play in a fortnight.
