Robertson out for the season

Melbourne spearhead Russell Robertson has been declared out of the season by Melbourne after the forward ruptured his achilles in the third term against St. Kilda at the Telstra Dome.
He received the ball after being tackled in the middle of the ground, but when attempting to get up, he realised that he could not put any weight or pressure on his leg.
He was forced to crawl in agony towards the bench, before being collected in the arms of two trainers and club doctors.
"He's got a ruptured achilles and he's out for the year. It's a real sour note, and it's a real sombre mood with the injury to Russell," coach Dean Bailey said after the game.
"He's a very upbeat guy and it's really disappointing, particularly with an injury to the achilles.
"He's out for, I'd safely say, the rest of the year."
Robertson will find it difficult to return to his springy self, as a large part of a player's leap coming from this lower-leg tendon. He will have to tone down his big grabs over packs, as this injury prevents players from doing so.
However, Bailey is confident the 29-year-old will return from the complaint, hopefully with his jumping ability still intact.
"He doesn't miss many games, and he's a player whose pretty tough in playing regular footy," Bailey said.
"I've got every confidence he'll come back, in what manner and how long and whether he can get back to his spring and everything (I don't know), but I hope he does because he's an exciting player to come and watch.
"There's no doubt for the rest of the year, we'll miss him."
With Robertson gone for the season, and former captain Davis Neitz retiring only last month after 15 season playing for the Dees, it leaves Melbourne in a pickle as to whom will carry the load up front.
Adem Yze did his best yesterday and kicked three goals, but can he carry the lacklustre Demons for the remainder of the year?
