R9 Preview: West Coast vs Adelaide
May 22nd 2008 09:41
Adelaide began West Coast's freefall into the unknown with a convincing 76-point belting in Round two. The Eagles now sit on the verge of euqalling their worst-ever losing streak, and against an organised Crows unit, the mission will be tough.
The Crows sit firmly entrenched in the top eight, and wish to inflict further pain to the Eagles. With young gun Kurt Tippett receiving Round eight's NAB Rising Star Award and Jason Proplyzia and Brett Burton both in scintillating form up front, West Coast will have a difficult time with the ball in defence.
West Coast will want to prove that their loss to Carlton several weeks ago during Chris Judd's return was a fluke. They also want to make Subiaco Oval the impenetrable fortress that it was during the Eagles' reign atop the AFL world.
Winning the game will mean more to West Coast than any other game this season. No one wants to equal - or beat - a losing streak. Can they prove that they are a strong team without Kerr, Judd and Cousins?
