R7 Preview: Collingwood v Hawthorn
May 2nd 2008 09:02
Many regard this match as the game of the round. Collingwood will want to extend their winning streak to two after it demolished a hapless Essendon outfit on ANZAC in front of 90,000 people. Hawthorn will want to keep its unbelmished record intact, and taking out the Magpies could be just a formality.
Lance Franklin will need to have his kicking boots on as a woeful performance last week (one goal, seven behinds) almost saw the Hawks lose to the Tigers. An unchanged team has been announced by the yellow and gold, which is brimming with confidence.
The umpires will be on the lookout for any 'corking', as both Sam Mitchell and Luke Hodge received an unofficial warning by the AFL for allegedly using the practice in previous matches this season.
Scott Burns is finally set to play his 250th game for the black and white, after missing the last four matches with injury.
Will Hawthorn be able to man-up against Paul Medhurst, Tarkyn Lockyer and Scott Pendelbury? Who will Collingwood use on Franklin? Expect the lead to change several times in this gripping contest
