Geelong def North Melbourne by 33 points.
Geelong has continued on its impressive 2008 run with a 33-point victory over North Melbourne at Skilled Stadium.
In the first of three potential matches between the two teams over the next six weeks, the Cats skipped away to a four-goal lead at half-time, and maintained the pressure on the Kangaroos in the last two terms.
But an eight-goal performance by David Hale wasn't enough for the Kangaroos to succumb to their first loss in six weeks.
Jimmy Bartel was outstanding for the raging-hot Premiership favourites, collecting 37 touches. Joel Corey also had 37 possessions for the Cats, whcih included 23 handpasses. Cameron Mooney kicked four goals playing against his old side. Paul Chapman also booted four goals, in his return match from injury.
Daniel Wells collected 28 disposals for the away side, whilst captain Adam Simpson and Daniel Pratt got 27 each. Lindsay Thomas was the other multiple goalscorer for the Kangaroos with two majors, alongside Hale's eight.
St. Kilda def Adelaide by points.
St. Kilda has become the eighth and final team to qualify for this year's finals' series with a convincing 48-point beating of fellow finalists Adelaide at Telstra Dome.
The Saints skipped away in the second term, kicking six goals to one, creating a miserable day for Crows' supporters.
In Robert Harvey's final home game, the Saints rallied to give him the send-off the club legend deserves. He got 22 touches for his team, showing that he can still mix it with the youngsters going around in the AFL.
Leigh Montagna gathered 31 possessions for the St. Kilda, and Brendan Goddard 30 including 13 marks and two goals. Nick Riewoldt kicked three majors and Stephen Milne two.
For the Crows, Kris Massie and Andrew McLeod racked up 36 touches each and Brad Symes 25. Scott Thompson booted two goals and was the only major contributor on the scoreboard.
Hawthorn def West Coast by 71 points.
Hawthorn has demolished West Coast by 71 points and left Lance Franklin two goals short of his 100th goal for the season.
The Hawks blew the game open during the third quarter, when they kicked nine goals to three. Franklin only managed one of the nine, but had two chances in the final term to kick the magical figure, but fell short.
Sam Mitchell collected 34 touches in an outstanding midfield performance, and Brad Sewell and Jordan Lewis 33 each. Brent Guerra and Rick Ladson got 32 each. Campbell Brown also kicked four in his new role up forward, along with Franklin.
For the home side, Chad Fletcher, Matt Priddis and Andrew Embley all had 31 possessions each. Ben McKinley booted three majors, but it wasn't enough.
