Richmond def Hawthorn by 29 points.
Richmond has kept its slim finals' hopes alive by defeating Hawthorn by 29 points at the MCG.
They now sit in 10th place, two points behind Brisbane and six points behind Collingwood and St. Kilda, who currently occupy the last two positions in the top eight.
The game was blown apart in the first half, with the Tigers kicking ten goals, and keeping the Hawks to just four. Hawthorn was 'Buddy-centric', going to their main forward in Lance Franklin too often.
Richmond held out Hawthorn's late rush, and took the four points.
Joel Bowdon played a blinder, accumulating 38 possessions including 21 marks all over the field. Shane Tuck got 36, whilst Daniel Connors and Mitch Morton kicked three goals each.
For the Hawks, Franklin kicked three and is within six goals of the ton. Sam Mitchell was the highest possession-getter with 28 touches.
North Melbourne def Carlton by 51 points.
North Melbourne has notched its sixth-straight victory, moving the club into the top-four for the first time this year and just about ending any hope the Blues had of making the finals this season.
The match started evenly, but an eight-goal second quarter opened up the match in favour of the Roos. And keeping Carlton to only one goal in the third term meant that victory was theirs for the taking.
Brent Harvey was the standout player of the match, with 30 disposals and three goals. David Hale, Shannon Grant and Leigh Harding all kicked three goals as well.
For the Blues, Brendan Fevola moved to with three goals of Lance Franklin on the Coleman Medal leaderboard with six majors. Marc Murphy gathered 29 touches and Andrew Walker 24.
St. Kilda def Fremantle by 43 points.
An eleven-goal to two second half has set up victory for St. Kilda against Fremantle, keeping their finals' hopes alive.
Led by Nick Riewoldt with five goals; Adam Schneider, four; and Stephen Milne, three, the Saints keep the pressure on Collingwood for seventh position on the AFL Ladder.
Lenny Hayes collected 30 disposals and Leigh Montagna 27. For the Dockers, Rhys Palmer is keeping his stellar season on track with 30 possessions and Jeff Farmer 27.
Matthew Pavlich and Adam Campbell kicked three goals each for Freo.
St. Kilda now plays Adelaide and Essendon in the last two weeks whilst Fremantle has Richmond and Collingwood. The Dockers could play a pivotal role in shaping the ladder, and where each team will finish.
