R20 Preview: Brisbane vs Western Bulldogs
August 16th 2008 01:45
This game looks set to be a beauty, with both teams having a lot to play for.
Brisbane has not been able to cement a top-eight spot, even though it looked certain to get one earlier in the season. Having lost more games than winning in the last six weeks has seen the pack catch up to the Lions.
Jonathan Brown and Daniel Bradshaw have been the only avenue to goal, and not many have been kicked without coming off the boot of these two forwards.
The Western Bulldogs may have already cemented top-three spot, but have not been playing good football this past month.
Having lost to Geelong and Carlton, the Doggies beat Sydney in Canberra. But last week, were taught a footballing lesson at the hands of the rampaging Kangaroos. They will need to find something in order to give their supporters some hope coming into September.
Jason Akermanis returns to his former home ground, and the last time he played there, showed why he was traded away from Brisbane. Former Bulldog Luke Darcy has gone on record saying that Aker should be dropped to the VFL for poor form.
Can the man respond in a timely fashion on the field?
Who will Dale Morris and Brian Lake get first crack at, Bradshaw or Brown?
