North Melbourne def Western Bulldogs by 20 points.
North Melbourne has kept the pressure on Sydney in the race for fourth position after it defeated the Western Bulldogs by 20 points at the Telstra Dome.
Kicking 11 to five in the first half, North kept the pressure on their opposition during the third quarter, extending their lead to 50 points at one stage.
But the Doggies weren't done, and kicked 13 goals in the second half to close the gap, but it wasn't enough, as the Kangaroos held on and kept their impressive record intact over the Westerners.
Brady Rawlings had a field-day, collecting 29 possessions, supported by Brent Harvey with 27 and three goals. Shannon Grant, Leigh Harding and Matt Campbell also kicked three goals each, to keep North within touch of a double-chance come finals time.
For the Doggies, Brad Johnson kicked five majors, and Daniel Giansiracusa and Jarrad Harbrow kicked three each. Adam Cooney collected 27 touches and Matthew Boyd continued his stellar season with 25, but it wasn't enough as the Western Bulldogs lost their third game in a month.
Adelaide def Richmond by 63 points.
A day of celebrations was topped off with Adelaide winning by 63 points against Richmond at AAMI Stadium.
Andrew McLeod's 300th game saw the Crows put in a dominant display of football, keeping the Tigers to a solitary goal to half-time, as the lead was extended to 54 points.
From there, Richmond was never in the hunt for a victory. And if anything, they cost themselves a place in this year's finals' series. They now sit a game-and-a-half outside the eight, with only three games to play.
Nathan van Berlo was Adelaide's highest possession winner with 32 disposals. Michael Doughty gathered 29 and 300-gamer McLeod 28. A handful of players kicked two goals, but the most important factor was that there were 12 individual goalkickers on the scoresheet.
For Richmond, Shane Tuck got 34 touches and Kane Johnson 32 against his old team-mates. Joel Bowdon in his 250th, got 19 possessions and a goal.
West Coast def Essendon by ten points.
A carerr-best seven goals from Ben McKinley has given West Coast its fourth win of the season against Essendon at Subiaco Oval.
The Eagles' victory almost end any chance that Essendon had of making this year's finals series, as they are two games plus percentage outside the eight with three games to go.
West Coast opened up a 38-point half-time lead, and held off a fast-finishing Essendon side, who were playing for their year. The Bombers kicked 13 goals to seven after half-time, but it wasn't enough.
David Wirrpunda assisted McKinley on the scoresheet with three goals of his own. Matt Priddis got 30 disposals and Michael Braun 29.
Jobe Watson gathered 31 possessions and Andrew Lovett 27 for the visitors. Matthew Lloyd and Jason Laycock kicked three goals each, but the Bombers fell short at the end.
