R19 Preview: North Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
August 8th 2008 03:49
It was in this clash earlier in the season that handed the Western Bulldogs their first of three losses for the year.
And it was only by a Brad Johnson, after-the-siren kick for goal that gave the points to North. The Bulldogs have suffered the other two losses in the past three weeks, but returned to the winner's list last week against an undermanned Sydney side at Manuka Oval.
North are cruising. Jumping from 10th to fifth in the space of an afternoon, the Kangaroos now are locked in battle with Sydney for fourth. Percentage only separates the two sides.
Nathan Thompson will make his return to football this week, after being on the sidelines for a week. Will he be able to cope with the strains of grueling training sessions and a match on the weekend? Will he break down again?
Will the Bulldogs rest some of their veteran players, as they are already assured of at least third place on the ladder?
Will Brad Johnson miss a set-shot for goal after the siren again, like he did in Round Nine?
