R18 Preview: Adelaide vs Carlton
August 1st 2008 01:07
Both teams went into their last match with no hope of walking away with the four points, but they managed to take them away from their much-fancied opponents.
Adelaide showed Sydney at homewhat it is like to play hard, contested football, and an injured Jason Porplyzia inspired his team to victory, and show some of the form that had them in the top four at the start of the season.
Carlton awoke in the second half against a determined Bulldogs outfit, and showed then that a 37-point half-time lead isn't enough to stop the Blue-baggers. Plenty of service from Nick Stevens and Chris Judd was directed at Brendan Fevola, who managed to kick six by game's end.
With only four points separating both teams on the ladder, this game could directly shape the eight with five weeks to go until the Finals.
