Hawthorn def Sydney by 26 points.
Hawthorn has accounted for Syndey by 26 points at the MCG, but the margin could have been bigger had forward Lance Franklin brought his kicking boot.
From a total of 14 shots on goal, Franklin managed 4.7 with two attempts going on-the-full and one not even making the distance.
But it was a comfortable day for the Hawks, as the Swans rarely looked threatening. They did not take the lead back at any stage, and led going into each break.
Mark Williams (four goals) Jarrad Roughead (three) supported Franklin up forward, with the Swans struggling to find players who could stifle the Hawks attacking options. Franklin also was the leading possession-getter with 21 touches, and Sam Mitchell 20.
As for the Swans, Brett Kirk had 29 disposals, inlcuding six tackles, and Adam Goodes - returning from suspension - had 27 possessions and one goal.
Western Bulldogs def Melbourne by 31 points.
The Western Bulldogs have handed Melbourne their first defeat under new chairman Jim Stynes to the tune of 31 points at the Telstra Dome.
The Demons were never quite in the game, and the scoreboard told the picture, with the Bulldogs having the lead at every break. The Dogs kicked away in the third term, scoring five goals to one.
Jason Akermanis was his usua best, kicking three goals to steer his team to victory. He was supporrted by Will Minson, who also bagged three. Matthew Boyd continued his stellar season with 33 touches, and Lindsay Gilbee got 27.
For the Dees, Brad Miller kicked three, and is providing a good replacement for the injured Russell Robertson and thre retired David Neitz. Cameron Bruce was the leading possession winner with 38, and Paul Wheatley got 34 disposals.
Richmond def West Coast by 77 points.
Richmond has kept its slim finals' hopes alive with a convincing 77-point victory against West Coast, continuing the Eagles horror year.
The Eagles had the lead going into the first break, managing to keep the Tigers' forwards at bay, but it all turned in the second term, when Richmond kick 11 goals to West Coast's one. And six goals each in the next two terms cemented an inpressive away victory for the yellow and black.
Jack Riewoldt had a day out, with five goals and Nathan Brown four. Former Bulldog Jordan McMahon racked up 33 possessions and Shane Tuck, 30, to see their team march on towards making the finals.
As for the Eagles, Andrew Embley managed to get 24 touches and Dean Cox 23, inlcuding a whopping 43 hitouts. David Wirrpunda and Ben McKinley kicked three goals each, but it wasn't enough.
