R15 Preview: Western Bulldogs vs Melbourne
July 12th 2008 01:22
In what looms as a big mismatch, this game could be closer than predicted on paper.
Melbourne do come into this match having secured only their second win of the season, defeating Brisbane by a point. Many claim it was the luck of the Irish, with new chairman and former great Jim Stynes taking the reins at the Demons, but they will want to prove it was not.
The Doggies absolutely flogged the Demons earlier this season, and have done so to just about every other team they played. They are not only in good form, but a tipped to be in the latter part of September.
Their midfield is firing, and their forwards are converting opportunities into goals. Adam Cooney could possibly take out this year's Brownlow Medal, and will want to show why he is considered a premier midfielder.
Austin Wonaeamirri has been a revelation for the Dees, and his youth exuberance is spurring his team on this season. He will need a lot of it to keep his team from losing this weekend.
