R15 Preview: West Coast vs Richmond
July 12th 2008 01:39
More events have been happening off-field for both teams, than on it, and the match will need to alert people that there is actually a game that is going to be played.
Richmond have been hit with the tragic accident of Graham Polak, but will definitely be inspied by his recovery and rehabilitation. He will be a driving factor for the rest of the seasion, as well as possibly making the finals - something the Tigers have not done since 2001.
West Coast have been embroiled in both matters that will affect their on-field and off-field futures. On-field, midfielder Adam Selwood has asked that he have a "get-out" clause inserted into his contract, meaning that if any Eagles player brings the team into disrepute, he can simply walk away from the team and join another.
This comes as no shock due to the amount of incidents that have occurred in the past few years at the Perth-based club.
Off-field, former Brisbane Lions captain Michael Voss has quashed any rumours tying him to the GC17 franchise, and signed on as an Assistant Coach to John Worsfold for the next two seasons.
On their last trip over the nullabor, Richmond walked away with the four points, after it defeated Fremantle by over ten goals. Will they do the same to the Eagles?
