R15 Preview: Essendon vs Brisbane
July 10th 2008 09:43
The Bombers come into this match having won their last three matches, whilst the Lions have lost two of their past three, including a shocking one-point loss against last-placed Melbourne.
Essendon will consider themselves as having a strong chance of taking the four points away - that is if Dustin Fletcher overcomes a hand injury and plays. If not, much will be left to Patty Ryder, and he will struggle to contain Jonathan Brown and Daniel Bradshaw.
Both Brisbane forwards are in the top seven in the league's goalkicking, and will want to rectify their poor performance last time out. Their powerful midfielders will also want to get first use of the ball, as the Bombers also have a potent forward line, which includes Matthew Llyod and Scott Lucas.
How will Essendon's youth match up against the experienced heads of a Brisbane Lions outfit? We will hve our answer Saturday night.
