R14 Preview: Sydney vs Collingwood
July 4th 2008 01:31
Sydney comes into the match having won six-in-a-row, and sitting pretty in fourth position on the ladder.
But the Swans will miss dual Brownlow Medallist Adam Goodes as he has been suspended for the clash. Peter 'Spida' Everitt comes into the side to replace him, and will have big shoes to fill, if he does take up a Goodes-type role.
Collingwood will hopefully be fielding a fully-fit team, after they had no interchange bench against the Western Bulldogs. Four key players had become injured throughout the match, including Anthony Rocca, who may miss the rest of the 2008 season.
When Rocca came off in the third quarter, the Pies were up by four goals, but due to no fresh players able to come on, were run over by the Bulldogs juggernaut, which currently sits in second position.
Travis Cloke has served his suspension and will be available. Josh Fraser has been given another week to rest his knee injury that he sustained in the Hall of Fame Tribute Match almost two months ago.
A do-or-die game for the Magpies, as a loss would see their top eight aspirations become harder to achieve. They will alo want to end their two-game losing streak, get on the winners list and take away the four points from the Harbour city.
