R13 Preview: West Coast vs Geelong
June 19th 2008 10:47
Both teams are at polar opposites on the AFL Ladder, with the Eagles sitting in 15th and the Cats in second.
West Coast regain six of its premiership players from two years ago, including Brownlow Medallist Daniel Kerr. He will add some much-needed toughness to the midfield. He will also be helping to bring on the young Eagles, who performed bravely against a Bomber side in Melbourne.
One will assume that Cameron Ling will be given the job to shut Kerr down. He was able to do this the last time the two teams met over a year ago, and will be looked at to do the same thing again.
The Cats will still be without All-Australian defender Matthew Scarlett, missing with a hamstring injury. Their inspiring 59-point win against Port Adelaide in a repeat of last year's Grand Final will hold them in good stead against the Eagles, and give them the confidence boost they need.
Which Eagle will take Gary Ablett, Jimmy Bartell and Joel Corey? Or will they run rings around West Coast?
