R13 Preview: Essendon vs Carlton
June 19th 2008 11:29
Carlton has been the talk of the AFL World after they climbed into the eight for the first time since 2006. The Blues have also come back from huge deficits against both Port Adelaide and Collingwood, and managed to win the match.
Their players are gelling, and Brendan Fevola is in sensational form after his 8.6 against the Pies. Having had contract negotiations on Monday, Fev will want to prove to the Carlton hierarchy why he is one of the best forwards going around.
For the Bombers, a superb win against fellow languishers West Coast helped ease some pressure mounting on new coach Matthew Knights. His team were able to show some signs that they have lots of fight left in 2008, even though they are in the bottom four.
Who will the Blues use to patrol both Matthew Lloyd and Scott Lucas, as they both returned to form against the Eagles. Who will the Bombers use against Fev? Will it be Fletcher or McPhee, who has been playing up forward as of late.
How will the Essendonmidfield hold up against Chris Judd, Bryce Gibbs and Marc Murphy?
