R12 Preview: Geelong vs Port Adelaide
June 12th 2008 06:57
In a replay of last year's Grand Final, Geelong face Port Adelaide with both teams have very different starts to the year.
The Cats go into this match with a 10-1 record, and currently sit second on the ladder. They have relied on individuals, rather than a whole-team effort to get them over the line in many matches this season. But without Matthew Scarlett missing for a fortnight with a hamstring injury, and Matthew Egan still not back for the Premiers, Geelong's defence will need to lift and work as a team.
Port go into this match with up-and-down form. Having given up a five-goal three-quarter time lead to Carlton last week, the Power will be determined to beat the Cats. They will also want to avenge the 119-point belting they copped at the hands of the Premiers in the Grand Final.
The Power were successful last time they met Geelong at Skilled Stadium, albeit by two points and a shot on goal with only two seconds to go.
Can they upset the Premiers once again?
