R12 Preview: Collingwood vs Carlton
June 12th 2008 06:57
It was only nine weeks ago when these two traditional rivals last met, with the Blues winning their first game of the season by knocking off their much-fancied opponents.
Collingwood goes into this match still as the much-fancied of the two teams, but with good reason. It has beaten Geelong, St. Kilda, West Coast and Melbourne in the past four weeks, and regain Anthony Rocca in their potent forward line. Travis Cloke will also play, after he accepted an early guilty plea for headbutting against the Dees.
But the one to watch out for will be Brendan Fevola. The superstar kicked seven against the Pies in their last fixture, and will be wanting to repeat the same feat this time around. Matthew Kreuzer finally became nominated in the NAB Rising Star award, for his heroics in the final quarter last week. He and his team will want him to do the same thing.
How will the come-from-behind victory affect the Blues? How will a six-day break affect the Pies? Only time will tell.
