R11 Preview: Port Adelaide vs Carlton
June 6th 2008 07:54
Only percentage separates these two teams as the league goes into the mid-season break. With four wins and six losses, the Power and the Blues will want to win to stay in touch with the top eight.
Port bounced into the winners circle after defeating a hapless Fremantle side in Perth, but had lost against both Hawthorn and Sydney in rounds nine and ten respectively. Their coach Mark Williams had branded them the best 0-4 side in the league six weeks ago, and they will want to keep on proving him wrong with a victory against the Blues.
After several choice words said during the week by Chad Cornes, calling Carlton "easy beats", the Blues will be fired up, and wanting to prove him wrong. Chris Judd has been in fine form, and amassed 28 touches in a stand-out match against Geelong.
Brendan Fevola was kept quiet by Matthew Scarlett, and will want his feet to do the talking as contract time nears.
It has been seven years since Carlton knocked Port Adelaide off at home. Can the Navy Blues do somethign that they have not done since Round 18, 2001?
