R11 Preview: Melbourne vs Collingwood
June 6th 2008 08:06
In the traditional Queen's Birthday match, last-placed Melbourne faces sixth-placed Collingwood at the MCG.
The Demons have not been able to kick big scores, and will now struggle to do so with David Neitz retiring and Russell Robertson out for the season with an achilles. A lot will be riding on Brad Greene and Adem Yze to kick a bag each.
Collingwood has not had any problems kicking big scores, and their combined winning margins for the last fortnight has been 186 points. Kinocking off the Cats in Round Nine, the Magpies were not expected to crush the Eagles in the fashion they did.
With a potent forward line firing on all cylinders, who will Melbourne use to mark Anthony Rocca, Paul Medhurst, Travis Cloke, Alan Didak and Leon Davis? Will these five players run riot, or will they have quiet days?
Melbourne have always performed against the Magpies in the biggest of the season for them. Can they put behind their woeful 2008 season and perforn against Collingwood, and surprise them, taking away the four points?
