Sydney def. Richmond by 82 points.
Syndey has continued its winning streak by defeating Richmond by 82 points at the SCG.
The Swans set up their victory with a six-goal opening term, whilst keeping the Tigers goaless. They continued to apply the pressure, and kicked another seven in the second quarter, finishing with 13 goals for the half. On the other hand, Richmond only managed to kick one goal for the half to be 12 goals down.
In the second half, the Tigers picked up their game, but it wasn't enough, as the Swans ran out winners by almost 14 goals.
Ryan O'Keefe received 27 touches and Brett Kirk 23 for the victors, and Michael O'Loughlin, Jarrad McVeigh and Amon Buchanan all kicked three goals each. Whilst for Richmond, Brett Deledio amassed 32 possessions and kicked two goals. He was the Tigers' best player on the ground.
St. Kilda def. Melbourne by 79 points.
St. Kilda has blasted its critics by demolishing Melbourne to the tune of 79 points at the Telstra Dome.
Going into the match, experts were suggesting that the Saints has underperformed given their list of starts, were seen as "mentally and physically soft", and generally on the slide. A win here - and by a big margin - would silence the critics and help their campaign for September glory.
And they did, incerasing their lead at every break, as Melbourne were made to look like the Auskick children playing at half-time. The Saints' midfield functioned properly, getting the ball out and pumping it forward to Stephen Milne (three goals) and Adam Schneider (five).
Luke Ball had 29 touches, Brendon Goddard and Nick Dal Santo 28, and Jason Gram and Sam Fisher 27, as the Saints absolutely dominated a lacklustre Demons outfit.
As for the Dees, James McDonald has 25 possessions, and Adem Yze kicked three goals for the losers, as these were the only highlights out of the match for Melbourne. Russell Robertson injured his achilles, and may miss up to six weeks, depending on the severity of the injury.
Port Adelaide def. Fremantle by 28 points.
Fremantle has given up its fifth-straight three-quarter time lead to once again lose to Port Adelaide by 28 points at Subiaco Oval.
Leading by two points going into the last change, the Dockers thought that they could hold on to register their second win of the season, and put to rest their six-game losing streak.
But Port had other ideas.
The Power restricted Freo to only one goal, as they amassed six of their own to come out victors by almost five goals. The match was a close encounter, up until the last term, with only a handful of goals separating the teams at any one point during the match.
For the visitors, Daniel Motlop kicked five majors, accompanied by Warren Tredrea with three. Kane Cornes had another dominating match, racking up 31 touches, Tom Logan 27 and David Rodan 24 and two goals.
Freo had NAB Rising Star Nominee Rhys Palmer star with 28 touches, and Aaron Sandilands with only 20 touches, 24 hitouts and two goals - the only major goalkicker for the Dockers.
