Collingwood def. West Coast by 100 points.

Collingwood has come out and blasted any critics who said that they were going to be exhausted after playing Geelong last week, by belting West Coast to the tune of 100 points.

The Magpies were dominant in every aspect on the ground, and executed coach Mick Mathouse's plan perfectly. They kicked seven goals in both the second and third quarters, and eight in the last to put the winning margin into three figures.

Paul Medhurst and Dale Thomas were unstoppable up front, as they kicked nine goals between them, with Medhurst kicking four in the last term. Leon Davis and Alan Didak also chipped in with three each, to help set up the victory.

Dane Swan was the dominant midfielder on the ground with 36 touches, whilst for the Eagles, Chad Fletcher chipped in with 33 possessions, and Andrew Embley and Matthew Priddis both accumulating 31 each.

Daniel Kerr also limped off the ground, sustaining an injury to his left leg. Tune into this space to hear how bad it was.

Western Bulldogs def Hawthorn by 32 points.

Top-placed Hawthorn played the Western Bulldogs, with the latter coming out on top with a spirited 32-point victory at Aurora Stadium, ending the Hawks' unbeaten start to the season.

What set the teams apart was the Bulldogs' ferocity at the ball, and the man, with 19 more tackles layed on than their opposition. Led by their tackling coach Jason Akermanis (24 possessions and seven tackles) and Daniel Cross (31 touches), the Doggies fully-deserved their victory.

Not even five goals from Lance Franklin and four from Jarrad Roughead were enough to see the yellow and gold take the victory. Andrew Welso kicked four majors for the victors, and Adam Cooney backed him with 28 possessions and two goals.

Robert Murphy will have to face the Monday music at the AFL Tribunal, as he was reported for rough conduct on Xavier Ellis in the second quarter.

Brisbane def North Melbourne by 31 points.

Brisbane has continued its march up the AFL Ladder with a convincing 31-point victory over the Kangaroos at the GABBA.

For the second week in a row, Jonathan Brown and Daniel Bradshaw have imposed themselves on the opposition's defence, running riot and kicking six goals each. North had no answers on how to match up on the bustling forwards.

The win was set up with a seven-goal second quarter, but Lions' supporters may be hanging on to the edge of their seat, as their captain Brown hobbled off the ground with a serious leg injury. The full extent will not be know for a few days.

Simon Black amassed 30 possessions for the home team, whilst for the Kangaroos, Adam Simpson and Daniel Pratt got 29 touches each.

Geelong def. Carlton by 56 points.

Geelong has restored some pride after last week's demolition at the hands of Collingwood by thrashing Carlton by 56 points at the Telstra Dome last night.

The win was set up a six-goal eight behind third term, whic saw Carlton almost remain scoreless if it wasn't for a minor score going towards their total. The Cats led by 56 points going into the final stanza, and the margin stayed the same at the final siren.

Steven Johnson dominated for the Cats, with 29 possessions and five goals, Jorey Corey got 34 and Brownlow Medal favourite Gary Ablett got 32, as the Blues were no match for the reigning Premiers.

For the Blues, Adam Carrazzo got 29 touches and captain Chris Judd amassed 28. Superstar forward Brendan Fevola was kept to only three goals, with Matthew Scarlett winning the battle this time around.

It was also a successful return for Tom Lonergan, after a horrific clash whick left him clinging for life, and without a kidney. He was a lively presence up forward, keeping the Blues' defence always guessing.
