R10 Preview: Sydney vs Richmond
May 29th 2008 11:06
Both teams come into this match in decent, winning form, with the Swans defeating Port Adelaide by 11 points over at AAMI Stadium and the Tigers beating the Bombers by 38 points at the Dreamtime at the 'G clash.
Richmond is a much-improved team compared to last year, thanks to Matthew Richardson finding a new home on the wing. The 33-year-old has been having a stellar season, one that will excite fans about their prospects leading into September.
Having said this, though, the Tigers do remain on three wins and a draw, but a more competitive squad overall.
Sydney will want to avenge for their last home performance, when they lost to the-then undefeated Western Bulldogs by 18 points. Their fans will not want to see two home losses in a row, and neither will the AFL, when trying to promote the game in the Harbour city.
Will Adam Goodes be forced to play Richo, or will the Swans concede some height when matching up on him? Will Richo man up on Goodes, and attempt to shut down the two-time Brownlow Medallist's inflence on the game.
Sunday will tell all.
