R10 Preview: Geelong vs Carlton
May 29th 2008 10:56
Who would have predicted the Cats to lose against Collingwood - and in the fashion they did - last week by 86 points!
Carlton coach Brett Ratten says that this is the worst game for his players all season - and with good reason. Geelong were outplayed in every single facet, and will want revenge. They will be eagler to show the AFL world that they are not vulnerable, but hungry for success.
Their star-studded midfield of Gary Ablett, James Bartel and Joel Corey will want to impress from the get-go, with early, quality possessions.
For Carlton, Brendan Fevola will come up against Matthew Scarlett, and the Blues will be relying on him to defeat the feisty defender and kick a swag. Carlton will certainly need to take a leaf out of their archenemy's book if they wish to have the same success as the Pies.
Even though Carlton got up against a deflated Fremantle outfit, they were down for most of the match. They will need a sustained effort if they are to topple the Cats.
Chris Judd has not done a lot this season thus far, but watch out for him and Nick Stevens to have high-possession matches.
