Preliminary Final 2: Hawthorn vs St. Kilda
September 18th 2008 09:45
Things couldn't be going any better for both teams, and it will be a shame to see one of them saying goodbye in 2008.
Hawthorn easily disposed of the Western Bulldogs two weeks ago, and rightfully earnt a week off. How will this impact on their performance Saturday night? Will the rest do them good?
Chance Bateman sent a scare through Hawthorn by rolling his ankle in training, and has not had the ideal preparation going into this match. How has his injury affected him and the rest of his teammates?
As for the Saints, initially slaughtered by Geelong in the opening week of the finals, they rebounded by defeating Collingwood by six goals. Their incredible accuracy in front of goal made sure that they entered week three full of confidence.
This may be Robert Harvey's final year, but the 382-game veteran is hoping that this is not his last match. He was instrumental in his side's win, and will be an inspiration for his team going into Saturday.
Can Nick Riewoldt and Stephen Milne match the attacking duo of Lance Franklin and Jarryd Roughead? Can Nick Dal Santo and Leigh Montagna go toe-to-toe with Sam Mitchell and Luke Hodge in the centre of the ground?
A spot in the Grand Final is at stake, and neither team wants to miss out.
