John James quits as Port CEO
June 27th 2008 00:56
Port Adelaide has not been having a good season at all.
From Grand Finallists last year, to being written off by their own coach about this year's Finals chances, the Power just want to scrap the 2008 season altogether.
But things are going from bad to worst with their chief executive John James set to resign from the Alberton club today. He is quitting to join investment company Vanguard in the United States.
''It tears me apart to leave the club at this time, but this opportunity is too good to not take,'' James told AdelaideNow.
''I've had two ambitions - to be the chief executive of the Port Adelaide Football Club and to live in New York,'' he added.
His position will begin on September 1, in Philadelphia, far, far away from Alberton, South Australia.
