Hawks warned about 'corking'
May 1st 2008 03:55
Hawthorn captain Sam Mitchell and vice-capitan Luke Hodge have both been reportedly warned that the AFL unpires will be watching then like hawks.
The two players will be under intense scrutiny because they allegedly attempt to 'cork' opponents legs during matches. The accusations come following Josh Carr's poor attempt at doing so to Geelong midfielder Gary Ablett, which saw the Fremantle Docker earn himself a three-week ban.
Brisbane also allege that the Hawks duo have tried the same tactic against them during their Round Five clash at the GABBA. "A Melbourne club"has also raised concerns after playing Hawthorn.
