Gumbleton out for season
June 16th 2008 09:39
Essendon youngster Scott Gumbleton looks like he will miss the rest of the season after fracturing his collarbone in the VFL against Geelong yesterday.
Scans confirmed that the 19-year-old will need to undergo surgery and a plate to be inserted into his shoulder.
The Number two pick in the 2006 draft has been riddled with injuries ever since he came to the Bombers, struggling with recurring hamstring injuries in his first season as a Bomber.
He has also suffered a knee injury this season, which has seen him play only one game this season in the firsts.
Gumbleton was in the process with the club, in sigining a two-year deal to keep him at Windy Hill until the end of 2009.
