The Sydney Swans are under investigation by the AFL for allegedly having a 19th player on the field during Sunday's controversial draw against the Kangaroos.
Swan ruckman Darren Jolly stayed on the field for 30 seconds after the interchange records stated that he should have come off for Jesse White.
In this time, Jolly helped get the ball to Brett Kirk, who had a snap on goal, managed to get a behind, squaring the ledger between the two teams.
The AFL's football operations manager, Adrian Anderson, told Footy Classified: "The AFL can confirm that the emergency umpire and interchange steward notified us of this after the game and we have sought an explanation from the Swans."
Under AFL rule 5.5.1, the result of a game can be changed if a team has too many players on the field, but only if the opposition captain calls for a head count at the time.
